Put the car back together and off we go, heading West into the Macdonnell Ranges! Meeting up with our friends again - Jack and Rachael. Plenty more lizards and other wildlife to see along the walks. Admiring the Ochre Pits. These are soft to touch, powdery rocks (used to be used as a paint). Ormiston Gorge - nice cold swim here. And then a bit of a hike up to the lookout to dry off. Cooking dinner that evening on the river. Dawn, one of many amazing camp sites in the red centre. Early morning wake up for the saddle hike at Redbank Gorge. Up, up we go. Freezing cold swim to finish off the morning. This gorge at Redbank is definitely underrated in the region! Quick stop in the centre of this crater for lunch. Camp for the night at Palm Valley. Start of Palm Valley. Heading back to the cars after 5km of exploring these 9000 odd palms in this remote oasis.
