ZOOMING DOWN THROUGH QLD - NSW - VIC

Slowly we trundled down the Queensland coast - every beach and camping location was splendid - even if they did all start blending in. At this stage little did we know how spoilt we had been with the abundance of camping we had experienced throughout WA, the NT and QLD.

Near Rainbow Beach - National Park camping in the forest. Plenty of spots to choose from.

More fresh water lakes to swim in! Poona Lake

And we're on the famous Teewah Beach, 15km of magic camping spots. Except a little busy with schoolies out and about.

Found our spot - grass on the beach, epic! Quick shower before a beer.

All clean, now another night cooking up a storm.

The greenest camp site in Aus!

First of several Sunshine Coast hikes.

Fairy Pools by Noosa Heads, the weather just perfect.

One of our favourite coastal walks along Noosa Heads.

Another day, another climb - Mount Coolum. We were pleased with ourselves having reached the top only to find a lady in her late 60s on her 7th round, seriously impressive.

Coolum beach - summer days!

Starting off at Mt Tibrogargen.

This is the section we got up to before calling it quits, definitely need to be comfortable with rock climbing here and not afraid of heights!

We made it to Brisbane! Visiting the Koala Sanctuary with some family friends.

And then a quick tour out to Toowoomba with a lunch pit stop at Lake Wivenhoe.

Walking around town whilst we wait for our car appointment...

All four wheel bearings were in serious need of replacement - good that I had the parts and found a mechanic with a bit of time. All those river crossings up the cape finally caught up with us.

Final nights in Brissy, plenty of friends to see in the 2 weeks we were here!

Cruising South through Byron Bay - classic lighthouse pic.

Made it to the Eastern most point - West, North and now East completed!

Spent a day in Nimbin - a very interesting town, 'High'ly recommend.

Exploring Yamba - cute little coastal town.

Finding a lunch spot, accidentally drove here without a permit. Still struggling to get used to the restrictions as we enter more populated areas.

Here will do!

We will miss these days - endlessly finding new swimming holes.

Another little hike along the coast.

First National Park camp in NSW.

So many little friends visiting our camp.

Coastal walks along the Northern coast in NSW were epic!

The weather forecast was for rain, so far we had luck on our side.

It kept pouring in between view points..

Then quickly jumping out for a stroll / look out in between showers.

More beautiful walks, plenty of surf spots and endless camping opportunities.

200mm rain predicted for tonight...

And it delivered it all around midnight. Snapped poles and water inside the car, oops!

More walks! This boardwalk in Urunga was one to remember.

Touristy tourist stuff - finding the queen bee in the hive was a highlight!

The walk was thiiiiis big.

Last photo of the coast before driving inland to escape the rain and wind!

On our way to country NSW - spectacular!

Up up we go into the Barrington Tops National Park.

Trees are getting taller as the air gets thinner.

Stunning views but some serious temperature drops.

Cranked the heater tonight after an epic camp fire meal!

The next morning we woke up with the campsite flooded and a heavy mist engulfing the forest.

Picnic spot at Firs trees.

Heading down the range again - searching for a coffee!

Few hold ups for a big ol' python.

Another great night, now in Goulburn National Park. Had the place all to ourselves!

Waking up at Big River campground, always feels good to get back to nature.

Two days in Newcastle - enjoying the return of the sun!

One more national park on the way to Sydney - how is it still so humid?

Doing the Bondi Junction - Bondi - Coogee - Bondi - Bondi Junction walk. Covering around 16km of walking just to avoid the horrendous traffic and lack of parking.

But what an epic coastal walk it was.

Thanks to Kaylz, we had an amazing 5 star lunch at Bondi Fish!

Surprise Covid outbreak - We were out of NSW in a flash, heading straight to Victoria.

First night in Victoria - the following day we had a Covid test just to be safe which came back negative within 4 hours.

Nights out in Melbourne with family. Thanks so much to all our friends that housed, fed and partied with us here!

Christmas morning. Matching shirts our new favourite thing.

Christmas day on Phillip Island. After a boozy evening a day at the beach was just what we needed.

It was good to chill out and relax in the city for a few weeks. Plenty of eating, drinking and walking the little foster dog Alan.

Eyeing off the next adventure - hoping covid doesn't stop us!

New years passed and birthday celebrations were had, getting used to the city again!

We made it onto the ship wooooohoooo!!!

It was all a bit rush rush once we were our of Sydney, unfortunately that meant missing most of the sights in Southern NSW and regional VIC. But we will be back one day to do an outback lap of both states!

Until the next entry where we drive around Tasmania!
