Tasmania!

Day one in Tasmania - skipping into the sunset after a long day on the ship.

Waking up in Devonport with our new travel companion - the Corolla beast!
(Janine and Loris)

Enjoying some lookouts along the Northern coastline.

First puncture of the trip, and for it to happen on a suburban road of all places.

Can you tell its a bit chilly?

But look at this scenery!

And plenty of walks in nature.

Views back over the coastline from The Nut.

Windy setup in the North-East, this was a council provided free camp.

"Edge of the world".

Driving back in land, many small lookouts and short walks.

Walking up Milkshake hills. Wonder what brought about that name? Haha!

Very scenic drives with endless mountains and rivers.

Scenic drives for days!

A quick visit to Trowutta Arch.

How are these views for a camp? And also makes for a freezing cold but refreshing bath.

Burgers tonight!

Weather turns quickly here. Four seasons in one day is no lie.

But the views just keep coming.

Free camps in Tassy can get quite busy!

Day 1 of our mini overland hike. Approx 12km that took us from Ronny Creek Car Park - Marion's Lookout - Summit of Cradle Mountain - Scott Kilvert Hut

Pointing at the 6km track we did the previous day around Dove lake.

All loaded up ready for the next few days.

Dumped our packs to climb Cradle Mountain.

Up up we go.

Absolutely spectacular views the whole way up.

An hour later, at the summit!

Back down, another few k's to camp.

Down we go, towards the lake!

A well deserved swim after a big day.

And we scored ourselves a spot in the hut for the night, quite relieved we didn't need to test the $20 Kmart tent! Total hrs of hiking: 10am-6.30pm.

Day 2. We took a day pack and started our trek up Barn Bluff. Approx. 11km was covered this day. Scott-Kilvert Hut - Barn Bluff Summit - Scott-Kilvert Hut.

A few hours later, there we were at the top.

Stunning views out across the overland track.

Down we come.

Back at our little hut for night number 2. Total hrs of hiking: 10am-5pm

Day 3. This was a 3 hour walk returning to Dove Lake Car Park. Only 5.6km but as you can see it was pretty challenging and legs were already dead!

Bit of a drive down to Hobart and a great day at the Mona Museum (especially as that day was a scorching, humid 34C).

Relaxed evening by the ocean with the temperature cooling off nicely.

Visiting the oldest usable bridge in Australia - Richmond.

Back on the road heading East.

Port Arthur convict tours were quite insightful.

Maingon Bay Lookout with a very cool cave nearby.

Very excited about oysters straight from the farmers.

Hiking in Freycinet National Park. Found a mini wave rock.

Wine glass bay lookout and another beautiful day.

Lunch at wine glass bay.

Hazard beach!

Bay of fires. Weather has turned again.

Getting dragged through lavender fields for romantic couple shots!

Loris destroying his chair.

Alpacas (not Llamas). Stolen photo off Loris.

Arrived in Launceston and walking to the Cataract Gorge. Pretty cool how close this is to the town.

Jascha really cringing how much this 10min chair lift cost.

A free light show at the Cataract Gorge.

Wine tasting! As insisted by Roxanne.

Loved a bit of time in this quirky antique store in Latrobe.

Back at Deconport Caravan Park - and one could see why!

Third echidna spotted!

Back on the ship heading to the mainland. Luckily we found ourselves a comfy seat considering we were third in line but let on near last!

Our baby tucked away amongst hundreds of other cars.

2 weeks really was not enough - next time we'll be back for 4 or 6 weeks. Now we begin the epic drive home along the nullarbor!
